PC mystery - will not boot

Help! My PC has a intermitant fault. It locks up with green, red and CD/DVD drive lights on and no signal to monitor. This fault has happened before and I thought I'd found a solution by fitting a separate video card in the GRP slot. All was well until I installed a new printer and it fell over again. The mystery is that after each time it fails, it starts up again O.K. if left overnight.

It might be something overheating - that would explain why leaving it off overnight cures the problem.

Can you check all the fans are going at full speed - have a look inside, or check the fan speeds and temperature in the BIOS perhaps.
