PC to Monitor/TV via S-Video Lead

I hava a dedicated TV out S-Video connection on my Dell Dimension 4700. When connected to another monitor or tv, it displays in Black & White. I am certain there is nothing wrong with the lead. Can anyone help please?

Depending on the tv.

There is usually a set up for the particular input connector,

be it 1, 2, 3.etc..

Make sure the one You are using is set as S-video else it will appear in black and white.

It should be in the tv manual.

On my panasonic TV AV2 is the S-Video input but to get this working you have to press the AV2 twice or you get as you have described black and white.

Ye I understand these replys,& I have tried it on 2 different TV`s. I am connecting the lead into a scart plug that has an S-Vid input connection, & then connecting to the TV`s scart connection.

Yes but that Scart connection on the TV has to support S Video

'Unlike "S-Video to SCART" adapters sold in Europe and Australia (that provide you with a black/white signal) our adapters allow you to transmit the COLOUR SIGNAL.'
THAT is not true
if you have a svid socket on the pc and a svid scart enabled socket on the tv any scart adaptor from maplins or wherever will do the job
