Hi everyone,I have pc wired to router with virgin media 20mb download which I usually about achieve.I have laptop wireless which gives about 10mb download speed. My question please is if I bought another laptop wired it to router would I get roughly same speed as Pc,ie somewhere near 20mb rather than wireless laptop 10mb.[Having both wired PC and wired laptop on at same time]Thanks very much Ian

A wired connection will be a lot faster across network and be a bit faster over internet

Thanks Strawballs,I was wondering if 2 wired connections at same time degraded connection of 20mb? Thanks Ian

If you have a 20Mbps connection, the available bandwidth will be *shared* by however many computers you have accessing the internet.

"Wireless" connections between computers and router will also *share" the available bandwidth (54Mbps for 802.11g), but wired connections will have the full speed of the router's "network switch", normally 100Mbps.
