PC & Laptop Network via FS Broadband

I suppose this has been raised many times but can anyone give me simple instructions or point me to a good source regarding networking a laptop in another room to my desktop PC. The aim is to share my FS broadband connection (using the green modem). I was wondering about wireless connection as the laptop - which is static 90% of the time - is in direct and open line with the desktop. Hope this makes sense!
Thanks for any advice.

if you want to share the broadband connection then you will need a network card in each machine regardless of using wireless connection or not. The best way to get a home network going is to use a router which also acts as a hardware firewall. There are several on the market and the choice is yours either cables or wireless. Cables are the cheaper option. click here
