PC internals-is there space enough?

I recently posted a thread on the physical dimensions of hardware and was satisfied with the response received.Since then I have been trying to get some sort of confirmation that a certain upgrade is feasable with respect to "fit".I am no better off.Having just wasted another 2 hours on the net by, perhaps a bit naively, trying to get the information I want from the respective manufacurers HP and ASUS, I wondered if anyone knows a site which specialises in DIY and would be able to help.It seems such a simple question but the answer is proving very difficultf to find.I have a HP Pavilion 7845 with an ASUS A7V-VM mobo. All I want to know is can I change the mobo for an ASUS A7N8X without having to buy a hacksaw or a pop-rivet gun.

You'd probably need to change the back plate (usually supplied with the mobo) It should fit in the case without problems or modifications (they are the same form factor)unless HP has ensured the case only has motherboard mounting points *just* for the supplied mobo. For not much more money you could get a nice new case (without an HP logo!) click here
