I have a PC with an Nvidia GeForce 6800 GS and am trying to connect it to my Evesham Alqemi V HD LCD tv via the VGA cable. It shows the mobo and XP splash screens but the desktop doesnt appear afterwards.

Can anyone provide any help with sorting this so i can use the TV as a monitor and do away with my digimate monitor?

via the VGA cable

perhaps you need to connect the DVI output on the card to the TVs HDMI input.

I'm going to get a DVI-HDMI cable but expected to be able to still be able to use the VGA untill I manage to get out to get it. I'm now worried that there are some settings i need to change to allow the PC to be viewed via the TV?

Should just swapping from VGA to DVI/HDMI cable resolve this?

thanks Lea
