Is there any benefit running both in tandem?,I tried it,and it ran ok for a while, but occasionally the windows firewall disables the internet connection and the pc can only be restartd by removing the windows firewall and then enabling the Lan connection again, the windows firewall can then be re-engaged.

You should only have one firewall running.

One Firewall is the rule although you can use both.Personally maybe you should think of removing both the Firewall and PC Guard. Both are regarded as fairly poor for Security Programs.Lots of other free and better programs out there. But if you are happy with what you have stick with it.
