Original thread click here

Could you post your computer specs and say what applications cause this crash? .Also have you updated any of your drivers lately.....particularly the graphics drivers?

Random crashes like this could also be hardware related.....memory problems spring to mind.Try removing and reseating your RAM memory modules. If you have more than one try using just one of them at a time and see if the crashes still occur.

its funny you should say about the memory one time when it happened microsoft said that it was to do with my memory but all the other times it has happened microsoft has said it was a driver problem. my spec is xp pro with service pack 2 500mb sdram 128 getforce

Seeing as Everest home has bitten the dust, you could also use click here System Spec or click here WinAudit V2.0

Right-click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab. Under Startup & Recovery click Settings. Under System Failure untick the box in front of Automatically restart.

The next time it crashes you sould be able to see the error on the blue screen. Paste it here.

Uninstall - reinstall sound driver, better yet update the driver for the CMAUDIO.

Exactly what sound card do you have fitted? Everest will tell you.

  halebop 15:18 21 Dec 05

Sound card: C-Media Wave Device
