pc clock error

The clock reverts to a date year 2002 each time i switch on after it has been off overnight
any suggestions please?

sounds like the cmos battery needs changing on the motherboard.

Will go with Skidzy on this one,cmos battery needs changing,It can be a bit complicated,So might be better getting proper advice on how to do it properly. Will cost about £2.95 or near enough out of any computer store or Maplans,

With most motherboards, changing the CMOS battery (the most common appears to be the CR 2032) is quite straightforward.

You will need to establish the battery type first; if you are able to swap them over reasonably quickly then the Bios settings should be retained.

However, it's worth writing down the various Bios settings first just in case your particular choices are lost and have to be reset.
