I built a PC for my neice and now and again it starts up by itself, I have also heard of other PC's doing the same thing. Could it be the MoBo or PSU. I built two near identical before and one would not shut down. I changed the modem for a different make and that solved the problem. Any ideas, thanks again. Wossie.

Or you could just turn it off at the wall. This will also save electric, hassel, and the world's supply of resources, the air quality, lots of other stuff, and cost nothing to do, and take no longer to turn it back on.

it may sound stupid but on my 6 year old machine the switch sometimes got stuck so youd shut it down and later in the night it turned back on (all fixed by replacing the switch with a nice new silver one)
