PC 4 Sale...How much?

  PC Mad Boy. 22:07 23 Jan 04

Hi all,

I am selling my PC as I have just been given a work laptop and no longer require this one.

Spec as follows:

Intel pentium 4 2400mhz, 512KB,533FSB
ASUS P4S8X-X Motherboard
256MB DDR Crucial Ram
x2 10GB Seagate 7200rpm HDD
LG 52*32*52 CDRW + Nero
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 64MB Graphics card.
Internal 56K PCI Modem
Windows 2000 pre-loaded but I have not got the Sticker or license anymore.

What do you think is a fair price for this PC?

£200-260. Some may be put off by the OS.

£260's OK for the hardware, i've spent over £320 on my new build Athlon Tower alone...

I would keep it unless you are 100% certain that your job is safe!

  PC Mad Boy. 22:38 23 Jan 04

Vog, My job is very safe I am 110% sure of that.

So is £260 a fair price to ask?

Would it be better if I had XP on??

You're very fortunate.

I would say you could ask £260 for it with W2K on it. Hardly worth coughing up for XP just to flog it. BUT do you have a W2K disk for it or any kind of recovery software - if not, this should put potential buyers off.

What is that a yes to Gandalf? XP or the price?
If I bought XP that wouldn't surely be economical would it? Could I then get £330?

  PC Mad Boy. 22:45 23 Jan 04

No but I could dop a restore Disk with drive image!

  spud 23:11 23 Jan 04

Does it come with a monitor, what size?

  PC Mad Boy. 23:13 23 Jan 04

No monitor, But I suppose I could get one for an extra £50.Is that worth it.
