password word on start up

please can u tell me how 2 remove the pass word when i boot up..i have o\s 98....ta

If it is a windows password, do a search for *.pwl and delete any you find.

Then reboot, put in a user name and click OK - don't put in a password.

If the password comes up as you boot up, you will have to go into the bios and disable it from there.

A quick fix is - Control Panel - password - change password - enter old password - leave the new password boxes empty - hit OK. Your system will reboot and it shouldn't ask for any passwords. That way it leaves it open to put password back on if needed.
