Password on Windows 98

When I turn on my PC, it asks for password along with my username. It says if I don't insert a password then it won't ask again but it does.

Has anybody any ideas how I can remove this.

I'm doing this from memory. If you go to network neighbourhood and Right click on it, if you select Windows login from the drop down list, re-boot the computer, it will ask for the password one last time, next time you boot it shouldn't ask again.

is this just to "get going" or to log into the internet?

and am on Win 98se and I just start up as an individual user with no logging in and out; am wondering if you can bypass it by not actually "going there " on start menue.

do you ask it to log you in as a user

( sorry, does that make sense?)

If that doesn't work, TweakUI click here has an option to log you on automatically.

search and delete *.pwl files, then CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK> remove client for ms networks REBOOT reinstate client for ms networks REBOOT click ok in log in box.
