Password Protecting Folders and/or Drives

Can anyone help please? My friend and I have been wondering for some time if it is possible to password protect folders and drives so that access is restricted. (Using Win Xp)
What we want is a complete folder protected though, not just documents, the folder may contain personal information, photos, spreadsheets and such with one password to open the whole folder.
Also, if we put a second hard drive in a computer, can we password protect that drive? Or indeed, if a hard drive is partitioned is it possible to protect one partition with a password so that access to drive "E" (for example) is restricted?
Any help or suggestions welcome. Thanks

Lots to choose from on Google.

click here this being an example.

You could of course use WinZip and password protect the zip file.
