Is it possible to make any folder password protected as I am taking my computer into a computer shop for some work and there are some folders which I would like kept private.I could transfer them to my external hard drive but if I can make them password protected I would rather do that.

Depending on what work is to be done muffin, you could always remove the harddrive untill you get the computer back.

What work is being done ?

There are programs out there to help you with protecting the folders, but if the technician really wants to look,i would guess they have a way around this.
Safest bet,is to remove the harddrive.
