I know you can password protect individual documents but is it possible to password protect the folder they are in ? (without purchasing additional software ?)

Not sure if it will work with an uncompressed folder.

To protect files in a zipped compressed folder with a password

Open My Computer, and then locate the compressed folder.

Double-click the compressed folder.

On the File menu, click Add a Password.

In the Password box, type a password.

In the Confirm Password box, type the password again.

Notes

To open My Computer, click Start, and then click My Computer.

Passwords are case sensitive.

You can identify compressed folders by the zipper on the folder icon.

When you extract an password protected file, the extracted file is no longer protected.

I have some software at home that password protects any folder and it is completely freeware. I spent ages looking for this type of software and when i go this it exceeded my expectations as it is so simple to use and does its job really well. I needed extra software to do this job as i did not want to create seperate user accounts in xp but needed to protect certain folders.

I cant remember the name of it but when I get home at 6.00pm I will post the name on here.

Also it stops the folders appearing in last viewed lists etc.

Just try and bury your porn in a really obscure folder that no-one would ever find, or you could try and make them hidden.
