I am trying to work on a spreadseet that I created some time ago but have forgot the password. It is quite a big spreadsheet and I don't fancy re-doing it, Is there a way to find the password or a workround that will let me alter the file. I am using Excel 2003

I use the excellent "Passware Kit", cambois. click here There is a free trial at that link but I'm not sure what limitations are on the trial, it might give you the first few letters of your forgotten password, maybe enough for you to remember it.

...there is also information out there on the net as to how to find these, involving using an editor to replace text at a particular position in the file if I recall correctly...haven't tried it in 2003 but works in prior version.
