By-passing DOS passwords

Hi All!
A friend, yes really a friend, has "aquired" a PC that apparently has Win95 loaded but he can't get past the DOS password. This subject has been covered many years ago but I can't find reference to it and can't remember.
Any ideas

If it's asking for a password on booting up into Win95 the click on cancel. To get rid of the password just delete any *.pwl files.

If you mena during the text screen at bootup - it isn't a DOS password - it's a password held in the BIOS.

To clear it, clear the BIOS - either by finding the clear CMOS jumper, or taking the battery out for a few hours.
