Partitioning Problem?

  grazzyt 17:33 31 Dec 06

I re-installed Windows and now have a problem I am unsure how to correct.

It seems that I have two copies of windows installed, or at least I have two folders called "windows" on my computer.

The thing that confuses me the most is the fact that all my old programs are still present in the program files folder, yet when i try to run them I am told they cannot be accessed and should be re-installed.

Someone has suggested that the problem lies with the partioning of my hard drive when I re-installed windows and while this sounds like it could be the source of the problem, it is not a part of my computer I want to play around with unless I am certain of what I am doing.

To help this forum offer good advice, would you please say what you can see in My Computer.

It will probably list something like A: Floppy, C:, (Maybe D:)and then one or more Compact Disks with drive letter next in series and finally Control Panel.

What do you see?
Assume you are running XP?
