partition/formatting 2nd HD in XP

I have just installed my old HDD into the new PC as a 2nd HDD. XP has found it and gives me the info on partition sizes.

It was partitioned into 2 15gb drives, but I now just want one 30GB partition on it.

How do I go about deleting the partition in XP, and then reformatting? Do I need to worry about primary and extended partitions?

Should I use NTFS rather than FAT 32?

All data has been backed up from the 2nd HDD.

You can do all you want by using the disk management console in xp, right click on my computer, select manage. In the console tree on the left, select disk management. Right click on the new drive and your options are presented to you.

As for NTFS or Fat32, I'd give it the ntfs treatment.
