Partitioned hard drives

Hello! I have a 80G hard drive partitioned into 30g and 50G and a separate 30G for backup. If I get rid of the partitioned 50G, adding it back to the 30G (which is what is holding all my (windows)programs) will it help my system run smoother with any less lag?

It's unlikely to make much difference. There might be a marginal improvement due to slightly reduced seek times, but probably not worth the effort.

If you haven't already done so, deleting old stuff (particularly if one or more of the partitions is getting full) and defragging might help.
