Partition Recovery

I have a laptop on which the hard drive contains a Recovery Partition of about 8 GB. I want to replace the hard drive with a larger one.

Can I use the Recovery Partition on the new hard drive? If so, how? Thank you.

Best thing to do is "clone" the old hard drive to the new larger one recovery partition and all.

You will need cloning software such as Acronis True Image.

Not a bad idea Fruit Bat.

Problem is (which I suppose I should have said earlier), is that the old hard drive is on its way out, making clunking noises. I can see the Recovery Partition when I connect the laptop hard drive as a slave to a desktop. I can also copy the partition across.

Use acronis to clone just the recovery partition then.

OK thanks - I'll try it.
