Partion not recognised?

I switched on my laptop and it appeared to be booting up normally then came up with the message, "PARTITION DOES NOT EXIST, SAVE TO DISK FUNCTION DISABLED." However,if I leave it Windows appears to boot up normally and it all seems to work. Could this be the hard drive giving up? Any help much appreciated!

running up too fast before the hdd is ready to signal it is onboard. There is a way to slow up the boot process but I do not know how. Try looking through the setup options in the bios itself or in the manual.

Thanks for the reply howard60, but the system seems to be booting slighty slower than what it did before. I have a spare hard drive, so I might try that later tonight.
