I'm working with a word document that has numbers inserted at the bottom of each page. This must be very basic, but I can't work out how to remove the page numbers. anyone can help?

thanks for this. It did work, but it does not delete numbers at once, and I have to carry on deleting numbers in every page. any ideas?

Select view from the menu options, view headers and footers, highlight the text and delete.

open the word document. go to view. extend the menu if necessary and select Headers and Footers.

select "switch between H and F" (third one in from the right) You should now be in the Footer.
Delete everything in the footer and click on CLOSE.

All numbers should now be deleted.
