I have successfully run system internals’ System file defrag. on my desktop but I cannot get it to run on my laptop. I have turned off hibernate - I was told this blocked the prog but it still will not run. I set the prog to run once on start-up and the machine freezes with the blue screen saying it is going to run the prog. But it does not do so. How can I make it run?

details:-

Op system:- XP 2, Fat32 (is this the problem - should I change to NTFS?)

Any advice?

Not sure if Fat32 is the problem, but everything would run much better if you change to NTFS.

To convert, click Start, and point to ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, and then click COMMAND PROMPT. Then to convert the C: drive, for example, to NTFS, type:

CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS and hit the ENTER key.

After that, re-start your computer.

You will not lose any programs etc by converting.

After that - should read 'After conversion is finished,'
