Packard Bell IStart 1359 graphics card upgrade

Upgraded xp to windows7, onboard graphics required upgrading, purchased Zotac nvidia geforce 5200 pci card.Fitted according to instuctions, uninstalled standard onboard graphics, disabled, in control panel as per instuctions etc but when try plugging in flatscreen in new graphics card monitor stays in standby. will only work when plugged into onboard graphics even though dis-abled. Instuctions say might have to disable in bios, but when looking does not appear to give you that option, gives options that I don't understand. Checking device manager gives 2 devices one being new card and states working correctly, the other onbord stating dis-abled. Please help
