Could be heat

Check the fan starts

Clean out the cpu fan, lift it off the heatsink and clean between fan and heatsink.

Clean all the slots on the heatsink and scrape any dirt off the fan blades.

You could replace the heat transfer paste/ pad between heat sink and CPU at the same time if you wish.

disconnect hard drive optical drives all usb connections and retry see if it stays on.

If it does shut down and connect HDD first and retry

Unlikely but check for a damaged USB port, I had the same sort of problem with my sons PC and that was the cause.

Thanks for the help, looks like a fault on the motherboard, so need new board.
