Packard Bell

I am trying to copy data from a HDD removed from a Packard Bell System, have installed as a slave in different pc but, Windows disk management will not allocate a drive letter to it.
When I use Partition Magic under heading 'type' instead of NTFS or FAT32 it states 'Type 44'.

Can anyone tell me how I can read the files from this drive?

I do not know, but i am guessing it is a protected area of the hard drive and is only accessible by a Packard Bell or possibly ties to that motherboard (OEM)

I fail to see why it doesn't work, I have the hdd's from my last two Packard Bell machines in cady's curently attached to the pc I am using now. The drives were instantly recognised and all data readable.

quick one, did you re-configure the jumper from master to slave?

Tried it as slave in IDE 0, and as Master in IDE 1

Thanks very much Scouter, it did have 'Go Back' enabled. Disabled it on boot up, now able to see as normal partition.
Cheers All.
