Want to use laptop to run a quiz and play a few tracks. Can anyone suggest some free softy so I can control Mic & music. Nothing fancy required.

Are you running a recent version of Windows? If so, won't Windows Media Player do what you want?

Err no. Media 11. How can I control the Mic and fade the music? The laptop will be plugged into amp via headphone skt & Mic into Mic socket.
Any more ideas?

thanks for the 'goggle' advise. Never thought of looking there! LOL
Did not want to splash the cash as this is a one off thing. I tried some Karaoke softy but could not get microphone sound to come out of speakers.
Yes mic was setup properly etc.
Any other ideas please

2 people? One holding the mic. The other operating the laptop. Play the music and use the volume controls for mic and music.
