Overwrite deleted files

Does Windows XP have the option to overwrite files you have deleted, so they can't be dug up again, Mac has a very good one so I just wondered if we could do the same with Win.XP

Fruit Bat,
killdisk looks the best bet, but even that doesn't say that it will only remove deleted items and leaving everything else intact.

Eraser will enable you to choose which files to delete, either by its' own program interface (double click the .exe file) or by right clicking the file/s in explorer (or other file manager, ie powerdesk).

I use killdisk if I just want to erase the whole disk, as I can boot to the floppy/cd and run it from there.
