Overclocking AMD Athalon XP2000+

  Duane 22:14 30 Mar 03

I have above prosser on a Soltek mobo with Redstorm overclocking option, when I ran it I got it up 1850mhz, (1666 normal FSB333mhz), but the thing would not boot.

Is it possible to run higher than 1666 and is it really worth it?

I'm not familiar with the options avaliable with the Soltek Mobo. However, increasing the voltage supplied to the cpu (slightly!) will usually allow it to post and then boot into windows.

The Xp2000+ runs at a stock speed of 1.67Ghz which is quite good. It has an FSB of 133 (266DDR) so if you can get it to 166 (333mhz) it'd be nice :)

I have an XP1500. To overclock this do I just change my bios to a faster CPU?
