over heating laptop

my wife has a laptop that when it has been on for sometime gets hot and everything slows down is there anyway i can avoid this problem many thanks for anybodys help martan

It will much depend on how you use your Laptop, which "don't laugh" should never be put on your lap.
It tends to block the vents underneath preventing AIRFLOW.

Go into Taskmanager,See if there is anything under procceses ,and CPU that should not be running.There have been a lot of problems with svchost.exe trying to download Microsoft up-dates that have already been installed.

you can buy little rubber feet out off most DIY shops,Maplins anywhere like that,Just stick them underneath on the four corners and it helps the the computer to keep cool.
