Outlook.pst file transfer

  sheffy 15:25 22 Mar 04

I have copied my outlook.pst file (outlook 2002 windows 98) to a cd and on my new computer I would like to import it (outlook 2003 windows xp). How do I do this? Any ideas?

The only problem with this will be that files copied to a CD will be read only. Copy from CD on to harddrive, change the read only attribute then follow the import wizard which you will find under the File menu.

If you need a step-by-step tutorial go to: support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287070 . The article is for Outlook 2002 but shouldn't be OK to use with Outlook 2003 as well.
Also do what scotty suggested.

My Computer > C Drive > Windows >

Copy from the CD and paste into the Windows folder.

Do not delete the old Outlook.pst files or you'll have to do a repair job.

It will completely replace the Outlook.pst file.
