Outlook.pst file

i recently had a PC crash but luckly had just saved my outlook.pst file. however now after restoring my PC and trying to open the saved file in Outlook i get the following message "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use" can anybody help me to reinstate the file back into Outlook.

If your running XP do you have admin rights

Have you tried the File > Import option from within Outlook?

If the saved .pst file is on a CD, copy it to your desktop, right-click, choose Properties and remove the read-only attribute first.

Thanks Jazzypop I have tried your suggestions but no luck however i an now told there is a file error and i should" go to the "inbox repair tool" can antbody tell me were that is.

For Outlook 2000, click here

Keep your original .pst somewhere safe, let it work on a copy.
