As everytime I format my C drive I would like to keep all my emails etc on my E drive where all my backup data is.

Thats exactly why i would like to know.
I cant even find the folder used or I could just copy that.

Hi. The only thing I believe you can do is once in O.E. go to:
Message on the top line,
then, Create rule from message.
It will lead through the steps fairly easily. However, this is for it to remain within OE, and not to go to another folder on you PC.
The only other avenue that might be worth pursuing is File/Export/Messages.

How about file/save as.. then select the drive you use for backup?

but that would involve doing it manually for each message

In Outlook you can Autoarchive folder contents.
Either go to Tools> options>other>autoarchive and you can choose where the archive is stored.
Or right click on the folder you want to save and go to 'Properties'>Autoarchive and you can select where you want to save each folder.
Sadly this is for Outlook only, not OE.

PS If you put 'Archive' in Outlook help, it gives masss of information on the subject, how to archive and retrieve the files, etc. Far too much to detail here.

I use Outlook Express 2002.

To change the location of the store folder :-
Tools
Options
Maintenance
Store Folder
Change Location.
Browse to chosen drive and location

Hope this helps

AlanHo
I wasn't aware of that. It looks as if that is exactly what SteevScotland and darkjedimistress are looking for.
