Outlook won't remember password

Hi,

I'm using Outlook to read AOL mail, account is set up ok and I can send and receive no problem.

However, when I set the account up, I requested that Outlook remember my aol password so I wouldn't have to type it every time, but for some reason, Outlook won't remember it. Is there anything that can be done. Small problem I know, but bloody irritating!

When you say you requested Outlook to remember your password did you do this Tools/Internet Accounts/Properties/ server/ tick the box remember my password?

Yes. Did all of that.

I don't use AOL, but I know it differs from other ISP's with the way it delivers email. I wonder if this is the cause. I think you need someone with experience of both AOL and Outlook to be more helpful, sorry I don't know the answer.

That's for 2002, I'm using 2000.

I would have a word with the AOL helpline, and see if they know, if it is a question of compatibility they should know the answer.

AOL won't help. They "don't support the use of 3rd party software".
