There has been a lot been said and written about email security in the past, especially about using the preview pane.

Does using the preview pane actually open the email itself or does it in fact do what it says on the tin, preview? This may seem a silly question to ask but I like the idea of a preview pane and if I can use it all the better. J.B.

Emmbedded e-mail virus can become active if e-mail is viewed in preview pane.

If you have a Virus scanner that scans the e-mail as it is dowloaded from the server (AVAST) if no threat found then save to use the preview pane.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have NIS 2007 installed and it scans incoming as wellas outgoing emails, however I will use the preview pane with some common sense attached. J.B.
