Outlook .pst file not importing

Having just formatted my hard drive I'm having difficulties getting the .pst file to be imported by outlook (2000)

I've followed the appropriate steps to import the file, have given myself god-like accessibility rights but it's having nonw of it.

At the screen where you put in the target file I get an error message saying:

"Properties for this information service must be define prior to use"

Any ideas how to get around this problem?

thanks
andrew

Try using the saved PST in the place of the current one. I mean, search on the disk for the PST file, delete it and put in its place the one that you saved. That works for me.

If the pst is on a cd then put it on the desktop. Remember to remove read only.

I suspect you are importing from a CD copy which is Read-only.

I think AndySD`s remedy should solve your problem. Copy to desktop, & remove the read-only attribute, then import to Outlook. I have done it many times.
