Outlook problem

I am running MS Outlook 2000 and when I send emails, instead of going to my sent items they remain in my Outbox. WHen I try to exit Outlook I get the message,"there are unsent items in your outbox, do you want to exit anyway?"

But when I sent a test message to my hotmail account, I noticed that the test message had, in fact, been sent. So why don't the sent items move to the sent items folder?

I think it's because my personal folders file is damaged. Will try the Inbox repair tool.
