Outlook Performance Issue

  rps1106 08:56 17 Feb 04

Whenever I load Outlook and it uses all the CPU Processing Power all the time so everything else runs slower. As sson as I close Outlook, everything is fine again. It is constantly using between 97%-99% processing power. Any ideas why and how I can stop it using all the processing power. Thanks

Do you have AVG (or any other Anti Virus) installed?

If so try disabling it first. AVG scans all messages everytime you open it and can cause Outlook to hang if you loads of messages especially with attachments.

Hi Jester,

It seems it only happens as soon as it goes to send/receive mail. If it doesn't do this then it is no problem but once it does a send/receive for the first time then it uses all the cpu power until I close it down.

Thanks jester, I will also look on this site.
