Outlook (not OE) mail problem

I have two e-mail accounts on Outlook, one with BT and the other is a work server account.

Each time I click on Send/Receive, I am asked for user names and passwords on each account. Even if I click on 'Save this password', it still asks me for them.

Any clues?

Try this first,

1.
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.Performance and Maintenance,
Administrative Tools

3.
In the Administrative Tools window double click Service to open it.

4.
On the right pane, scroll down and see if Protected Storage status is Started.

5.
If the status is not Started, double click on it.

6.
Set the Startup type to Automatic and click OK.

7.
Restart your computer.

Your BT account needs authentication for outgoing mail and this might be your problem - to check this on OL go to Tools, e mail accounts, select view and click next then select your BT account and select change - confirm you have remember password selected then click more settings - select the outgoing server tag and
tick "my outgoing server requires authentication". Click OK then on the settings page you will be returned to click test account settings. If you get all ticks against your BT account you might want to see if your other accounnt needs the same. Hope this helps

Tried that again just now. No change. Thanks though.

Thanks for this. I contacted BT and they said the same. This seems to only happen on outgoing mail.

Any other ideas anyone?

Does that mean you have authentication selected?

Thanks, but I don't have a 'Permissions' folder within the 'Protected Storage System Provider' folder.

The only folder present there is S-1-5-21-3663022781-4222941642-3189234058-1007
