Outlook Folders damaged

I wanted to try a new email client (called emClient - click here) and needed to import my substantial Outlook (2002) folders and messages. The only way I could do it was to export the .pst Outlook folder to .eml format. To do this I downloaded and tried a program called Outlook spiller (click here)
This exported the folder and messages OK (except that every message is in its own file and prefaced by Trial version...(+original subject title))

I then imported these successfully to the new emClient. However, I didn't like the new emClient much so I closed it and reloaded Outlook. However, Outlook wouldn't open my .pst folder. I was told that Outlook could no longer access the folder because it had been damaged by another application.

As these are vital work folders, can anyone please help? I am using Windows XP, Office XP with Outlook 2002.
