Outlook Express won't close

  paulhicko 09:38 04 Dec 03

I use Windows XP. When I try to log off or shut down after using Outlook Express, box comes up saying 'End Program Outlook Express FolderSync Windo....' and message 'Ending Program' comes up. Status bar then fills up and message comes up 'This program is not responding'. It gives me the option to end now and lose any unsaved data.

Obviously, I will have saved my data but it's a bit irritating to have to end now every time. I can't help feeling it's not doing my PC any good.

Should I try reinstalling OE - or has anybody got any less drastic ideas? Cheers.

Do you use OE to pick up mail from Hotmail - if so, disable that option and see if it continues to happen - it could be a bug there.

Does OD give an option to "reconstruct index"? If so, give that a try also as there may be a problem there.

Thanks for the suggestion but neither of those apply.
