I would like to use OE, as it is always available, unlike gmail, which I have been using on line for a number of years. I would like to go back to uisng oe, and I can see incoming mail, but not outgoing. I have tried various ways of getting round this, but I think I now prefer to have OE always available. Quite sure I just need the right setup, but I can't get it going! OK I know that is stupid, but I an now VERY OLD.... Help please, gurus, I am at least halfway towards a solution

Lotvic - Unfortunately that very smart piece you were kind enough to send me is not working. I followed all your suggestions, but it still won't go.It SEEMS to be all right, but then falls over. It tells me that I should be using SMTP port25, secure SSL 10060 socket error, error number 0XOOCCCOE. I think I may need some sort of certificate? Cheers, Kim

Maybe I should try Windows Live, which I haven't even looked at? Thanks again for helping - your instructions were meticulous...shame they wouldn't work for me. Perhaps I need a certificate?
