outlook express is removing attachments

i am trying to send an attachment using oe and it keeps removing the attachment.it has a bar saying oe has removed access to the following unsafeattachments in your mail .Document.jpeg.i am trying to send an application form i scanned .any ideas why it is doing this all of a sudden as it is driving me crazy,thanks

Open OE,then go into tools then options,then down to where it says block attacments etc. Untick it then press apply then ok. That should work then.

Try this:
Start Outlook Express, and then on the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Security tab, and then UNTICK the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box under Virus Protection.

Allyginger's advice is actually for attachments received and should be unchecked in any case.

Are you sending attachments via OE's Help advice?

"To insert a file into a message

"Click anywhere in the message window.

"On the Insert menu, click File Attachment, and then find the file you want to attach.

"Select the file, and then click Attach.

"The file is listed in the Attach box in the message header."

i dont want to download any potential virus but i want to be able to send attachments i know are safe.i will try the advice and post back.thanks to all replies patso

That's the protection job of AV utilities such as Avast! or AVG AV.
