Outlook Express can import messages only from the default message store in Outlook. You can import messages from a different store; however, this requires changing the default store location in Outlook before you proceed with importing. To find out more about your Outlook store locations, in Outlook on the File menu, click Data File Management. You can view information about your data files and make changes if needed.

Import messages from Outlook to Outlook Express

In Outlook Express, on the File menu, point to Import, and then click Messages.
In the list, click Microsoft Outlook, and then click Next.
Note If Outlook is not open, you will be prompted to select the Outlook user profile (Outlook e-mail profile: A profile is what Outlook uses to remember the e-mail accounts and the settings that tell Outlook where your e-mail is stored.) where the messages are stored. Select a profile, and then click OK.

Select the folders to import, and then click Next.
Click Finish.
