Outlook Express error message

Been having trouble with OE lately.

I scanned with AVG, which found two Trojans and deleted them.

Turned System Restore off and on again.

Reset Internet Explorer.

Now, when I click on an email link, I get:

'Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed'.

When I open OE, I'm asked to make it default. Tried Yes and No.

Downloaded Thunderbird and set that as default, same message.

Anyone help, please?

Hi, try running Ccleaner click here first, then try OE again - might just be a bit left-over from Trojan or a glitch in the Registry.

Perhaps a repair - click here which should repair OE as well as IE.

Internet Explorer is not in Add/Remove.

You need to read the section that deals with XP.

That fix requires a CD. It can't find the file to install ie.inf on i386.

I'm doing a Ghost restore on that machine.

I've turned off System Restore and now scanning with AVG again. It must have picked up a nasty infection.

Don't forget to back-up, guys and gals.
