I have need to encrypt occational files for emailing through OE6. (Win98SE) Can anyone explain in plain english what the proceedure is. I've read the MS help but for some reason my brain goes into blank mode within about 10 seconds. Or can anyone suggest an alternative and finally, I assume (dangerousI know) that the receipient requires the same software to de-crypt the file

Encryption does require both parties to hold the appropriate `key` to open encrypted messages.

What happens is that when you send an encrypted email to a friend, if your friend doesn't have the key to open the email they will not be able to open it at all. So if you have 128 bit encryption on your system and your friend doesn't they will not be able to open it.

If this is wrong i'm sure somebody will correct me.
