OUTLOOK EXPRESS-DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS SAME PROB?

Hi,

I have been trying to find a solution to the below for months:

After boot up clicking on any action within OE takes about 15 seconds to complete. Whether I'm opening a mail or clicking on a folder or icon in the menu bar the very first action in OE is very slow. After this it's absolutely fine & perfectly quick in everything.

It's an annoyance rather than a disaster.
Any ideas?

Regards,
J

To fix this, open Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
\CLSID
\{FB7199AB-79BF-11d2-8D94-0000F875C541}
\InProcServer32

In the right-hand pane, double-click on the (Default) value and delete whatever is entered there, leaving it blank. Click OK. Now perform exactly the same step with the key directly underneath, namely

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
\CLSID
\{FB7199AB-79BF-11d2-8D94-0000F875C541}
\LocalServer32

Once both (Default) values are empty, OE will open normally

If you are happy to enter your registry the above should fix your prob for you.

The sensible thing to do first would be to make a backup of your registry first then procede with fix, good luck....

Thanks Santos. I should have emphasised that OE loads absolutely fine & quickly after boot up. It is clicking on the very first action within OE which is slow.

Does your idea still apply?

J

Not sure but if you want to try it just write down the values it is asking you to change so you can put them back again if its the same....
