I received a kind reply to my question. However sfc/scannow tells me "Windows cannot find that file". Any further helps?
Try running the system file checker. If you are using XP Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in: sfc /scannow This command will start the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem,

Are you leaving the space between sfc and /scannow?

Note: there is a space in sfc /scannow
between the c and /
